Sometimes at work they let me do what I want, so I made a mixtape. I love mixtapes. But Happy Holidays all! Secular or not, it’s cool dude.

Hurricane Sandy Is Bigger Than Politics of the Day: In an appearance on this morning’s Fox and Friends,New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie ® was asked about a potential visit to the state by Mitt Romney. Christie was pissed:
“I have no idea, nor am I the least bit concerned or interested. … I’ve got a job to do here in New Jersey that’s much bigger than presidential politics. … If you think right now I give a damn about presidential politics, then you don’t know me.”
Governor, you’re doing it right.

Will Smith Freestyle of the Day: Some lucky party goers at Gabrielle Union’s 40th birthday party in Miami Saturday night witnessed a rare performance from the Fresh Prince himself, Will Smith. The A-list action star grabbed the mic while Doug E. Fresh provided the human beatbox, and spit some lines — including an out-of-character n-bomb — before doing a brief medley of “Summertime” and the Fresh Prince of Bel Air theme.

Yes, I Would Like Fries With That
A couple of years ago, a little store named Everything With Fries opened its doors to the public. True to its name, they quickly became well-known for their fries, prepared and served in a variety of flavours. I had heard about them, but I had never had the urge to travel all the way to their restaurant to try it. However, when I heard that they had expanded and opened a new branch near my workplace, I became eager to visit them. After a few months, C and I finally had enough time in our schedules to have a quiet dinner after work.
It being situated in the top floor of a shopping mall, we hadn’t expected much in terms of atmosphere, but we were pleasantly surprised by how much of an effort they had put in trying to. It wasn’t mood lighting or any of that sort, of course, but it was a nice quiet area of the floor they had set up shop in, away from the nearby cinema theatres and the shopping area. With a mixture of booths and tables, they turned what could have looked like just a fancy foodcourt look into something slightly more.
We were seated quickly by a friendly waiter, who proceeded to show us their specials and then politely left us alone to quietly ponder through the menu. We ordered the Beef Karubi with a side of Truffle Oil Fries, as well as a solo plate of Sour Cream & Onion Fries. We didn’t have to wait very long for our food, which was a good thing as we were starving after a long day. Once the food came, we immediately dug in, starting with the beef.
And I must say, the beef was fantastic. One light slice, and a big slab came sliding right off the bone. The meat and soft and tender and easy to bite, the fat chewy without being rubbery. Paired with the accompanying black pepper sauce, it was a delightful main course.
As for the main attraction of the fries, I was equally impressed with their taste and flavour as I was with the beef. Cut into shoestring slices of potato, they weren’t hard and crispy as I expected them to be, but instead soft and slightly soggy. This actually turned out to be a good thing, as the sogginess of the fries was due to them being fried for a long time in the various flavours, which meant that the flavours had already been locked into the potato. As a result, each bite was filled to the maximum with the truffle oil and the sour cream & onion tastes, unlike other places where some had the taste and some didn’t. They definitely know that the fries are their bread and butter, so to speak, and they didn’t disappoint in that regard.
All in all, we were delightfully surprised by the store and its food. We weren’t too sure of how this dinner it would turn out, and the meal far exceeded our expectations. Especially the fries - Both of us now absolutely love the fries, and even up until now, when she meets me for lunch and have some cash to spare we’d go up and order just a plate of fries each. It’s a simple delightful meal that’s still fills us up and extremely worth the price.
